Context

IO was undergoing a significant transformation from a traditional data center operator to a technology-driven cloud platform. As new products, services, and infrastructure models emerged, the company lacked a unified way to communicate and operate across teams.

Different business units had developed their own tools, interfaces, and messaging, resulting in fragmented user experiences and inconsistent brand expression. At the same time, the complexity of IO’s offerings made it difficult for customers to understand the value of the platform.

This work was initiated to bring structure and clarity to both the product and the brand. The goal was to create a cohesive design language that could scale across software, marketing, and physical environments, aligning internal teams while making the system more accessible to users and customers.

Project 1

A Standardized UI Language for Data Center Systems

As IO evolved its software ecosystem, a unified interface language was developed to bring consistency, clarity, and cohesion across platforms.

Project Description

As IO expanded its digital products, teams were building tools independently, each with its own structure and visual language. The result was a fragmented experience across systems that were meant to work together.

During this period, a standardized UI language was developed to unify these platforms under a shared set of principles, patterns, and interaction models. Existing tools were rethought and redesigned to align with a more consistent and modern framework, while still allowing each system to retain its purpose and identity.

This work brought coherence to a growing ecosystem, enabling a more seamless user experience across products and establishing a foundation for future development.

Building a Modern Brand for the Cloud

As IO transitioned into a technology-led organization, marketing became a critical layer for expressing its evolving identity across digital, physical, and customer-facing experiences.

Project Description

In 2013, IO was redefining itself from a traditional data center provider into a more mature, technology-driven platform. This shift required more than a visual refresh. It demanded a cohesive way to communicate complex offerings with clarity and confidence across every touchpoint.

Building on the emerging identity and visual language, a broad range of marketing assets were developed to support this transition. Websites, product documentation, technical diagrams, environmental graphics, and campaign materials were redesigned to reflect a more structured and modern point of view.

The work focused on translating technical depth into accessible narratives, helping position IO not just as infrastructure, but as a forward-thinking cloud and data platform. Across channels, the goal was consistency, clarity, and a sense of precision that aligned with both the product experience and the company’s evolving culture.
